WICKED SMART
Apparently, people who post comments on Matthew Yglesias‘ blog are quite the SAT over-achievers, with self-reported average scores in the 1570s.

Given the quality of the comments, that comes as a surprise…all that wasted potential….
I would be happy to go over and lower the average substantially.
While they may be wicked smart, I’m just wicked.
(You know, for some reason people remember their SAT scores as if they were tatooed on their forearm. I can’t even remember taking my SATs.)
I guess they’re fairly defining at that point in your life. Plus, as I’m discovering as I rapidly approach geezerdom, one’s memory of youth is much clearer than that of more recent events. I can’t recall much of anything about, say, June but virtually everything on VH1’s “I love the ’70s” programs seem as if they were only yesterday.
SURE!
And I dated Bo Derek after I saved her from the people trying to kill her while we in French Riviera.
We dated for a while but I left her, she just didn’t do it for me.
Now I spend my time with Jennifer Aniston and Ana Kournikova .
Yeah, that’s it… that’s the ticket.

If you don’t get it, you are probably too young.
For the satirically challenged, I think the key phrase is “self-reported.”
“…as I’m discovering as I rapidly approach geezerdom, one’s memory of youth is much clearer than that of more recent events.”
I’m having the exact opposite problem, except that recent events are not very clear either.
Paul,
If you don’t get it, you may also be too old. I stopped watching SNL by that point.
Well, at least one of your readers is self reporting SAT socres in the lower 1970’s…
I got 1370. Took it once, went to the college of my choice, and drank my brain away.
