After months and months of people FEELING like she should be in rehab, Amy Winehouse has finally entered rehab!

Amy Winehouse, who was rushed to hospital after collapsing on Wednesday, checked into The Priory rehab centre in London yesterday as family members admitted that her relentless drink and drug lifestyle had pushed her to the brink.

One friend said: “It’s not an exaggeration to say that unless she sorts herself out, this relentless dalliance with drink and drugs will only have one ending. And it won’t be happy. It’s time for some tough love which is why we’ve taken her to get help.”

Amy’s worried father-in-law, retired businessman Lance Fielder, blamed her breakdown on massive booze and drugs binges. And he dismissed her record company’s excuse of “severe exhaustion” as a “cover-up”.

Amy’s husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, has spoken to his father about his concerns. Mr Fielder, 66, said: “He told me he was very worried about her. He admitted they both drank and did drugs but that came as no surprise. “It was bought on by all her excesses. Yes, work is one of them, but there’s the drink and drugs too. She’s got to get a grip on herself before it’s too late.”

He added that if anyone can help Amy, it was Blake. He said: “Amy is besotted by Blake. She’s much happier when he’s there and he wants to help her. Blake’s a good influence on her. But Amy is a very, very strong personality and I just wonder how much influence he can exert over her.”

Amy, whose hit single Rehab includes the line “They tried to make me go to rehab, I said No, No, No”, is in a private wing at The Priory in Roehampton, South West London.

Her dad Mitchell and mum Janis, who separated when she was nine, are understood to be with her.

After Amy arrived in a black 4×4, an insider said: “She looked in a terrible state, she could barely walk. There were about six people with her, including one who looked like a minder.”

“A security guard has also been posted at the entrance to check people as they go in and out.”
