Michelle Manhart Playboy Photos

Toxic Magazine has scans of several of the Michelle Manhart Playboy photo shoot. Manhart, you may recall, is an Air Force staff sergeant and mother of two who was shocked to discover that posing naked for a porno mag might negatively impact her career.

According to Toxic,

The good looking Sergeant appears nude in the latest issue of the magazine in a six-page spread with pictures in and out of uniform titled ‘Tough Love’.

The California native said she hopes that the photo shoot will pave a way into an acting or modeling career.

The photos at the link are mostly out of uniform.

I’m a former Drill Sergeant with the U.S. Army, you can’t pose in uniform and then pose in the nude, especially if your a Drill Sergeant, as a Drill Sergeant you are a role model to future soldiers and airmen. If you want to pose for playboy got out of the service first.

I don’t even like Playboy, but you know what I think that awesome what she did. I’m going to go out & buy that magazine right now.

This girl is a disgrace to the military community. As a female Marine, I know how difficult it is to maintain a high standard and be viewed as equals to men in the Marine Corps and this girl just reflects some of the reasoning why. Additionally, I can’t speak for the airforce, but Marines earn their dog tags and would know better than to wear them in a paid nude spread when fellow marines are proudly wearing them fighting a war in Iraq.

I too am a retired U.S.Army Drill Sgt and by military regulations(which, by the way, you swore to up hold when you enlist, among other things)you may not wear your uniform for such things as this or even while attending political gatherings and such.
If you want to degrade yourself, fine, but do it without disobeying orders, disrespecting the military, your country and others. It’s an Article 15 at the least and release from active duty for actions unbecoming of an NCO at the worst.

I too am retired from the Navy and as a male if i would have done this i know for a fact it would not be all over the news. Know that the Air Force is making a big stink out of it, she will be rich after she writes her book when she gets kicked out anyway! They might as well give her the “chicken dinner” and end all of this bad publicity for the military.

I’m a female Technical Sergeant (E6) in the United States Air Force who believes SSgt Manhart is a disgrace to the Air Force that I serve with pride and dignity. As a military training instructer, how does she expect new airman to respect her when they’ve probably seen here sprawled out in a nudity magazine? She knew it was wrong when she was doing it and she’s should be punished. Once she’s out of the Air Force, she can pose nude on a billboard, but as long as she wears the uniform, she needs to cover it up.

I agree with the post of DLD.This Staff Sergeant knew what she was doing and her actions and is a disgrace hurt all other women proudly serving. Pose on your own time and not in uniform and if you want out that bad then finish your enlistment and get out and dont expect an honorable discharge. I salute all women serving with honor

i am a canadian i believe michelle manhart may have used poor judgement but in a time when the US miltary is in a war i think the higher ups should turn this aroud and use itmaybe as morale boost as for respect i am sure there are alot more serious issues to worry about take care

My name is SRA Fox of the 104th fighter wing. SGT Manhart was my Instructor throughout basic military training. She was the best instructor in our squadron she could connect with the trainees and still keep strict discipline throught the entire 6 weeks of training. She worked her a** off for the airforce and anyone who says she has done any different please feel free to waste my time with an email. And come on shes in perfect shape has children and definately got all your attention. Congrats MAM looking great!

When she decides to get into porn she can look me up!

Posted by Ray | January 19, 2007 | 06:44 pm | Permalink

Bottom line, YES it was against all military regs. It is her choice and not yours. She made that decision and will live with the reality of her current career in the Air Force.

I’m sick and tired of female military being so condescending towards other woman in general let alone their own. If I was a female in the military this would not bother me one bit.Good for her for doing what she did. KUDOS to her for standing up to the military.

There is nothing wrong with nudity. And in my opinion any woman out there military or not, if you are upset by this it is because you have a serious problem with your own sexuality.

I have been around the military enough to be able to speak on this. I can think of ten thousand more disgracfeul things that make the military look bad than a woman posing nude in Playboy.

I don’t see us getting upset because Chris Cannon (former US Marine) is now doing porn, and there are many others.

This is right up there with the Corps refusing Jenna Jameson to the Marine Corps Ball. Most service members watch or read porn at some point in their career but when stuff like this comes up you all want to hush it under a rug like it does not exist.

That in and of itself makes the military look bad.

SO GET OVER IT!

I am a female E-6 in the U.S. Navy, and have served as an RDC at Great Lakes. I’m proud of her. Nobody will respect her less for anything, I think maybe I’ll try to get a hold of playboy, give the Navy something to fuss over. She is hot and I’m glad she did. Only ugly people disagree.

What this Sgt did was something she chose to do. Yes she broke rules and her contract, but in the end she’ll make money and be ok. She’s a good looking woman, and has had 2 kids, why would she pass this up. Nudity is not an issue with her, or the military. Go to the BX and you’ll see playboys, perfect 10 in the magazine racks. Maybe she could of done without the dog tags etc but in the end her choice. Get over it.
The military is great in many ways. People serve to defend the rights of others, but military people don’t get all those rights. Military goes by stricter rules/laws. You makes you think: how can they defend those rights, when they can’t share them with us? Pros and cons.

Posted by j | January 23, 2007 | 01:44 pm | Permalink

The only thing she did wrong was use pictures of herself in uniform. Take those pictures away and no harm done.

Is this error worthy of a dishonorable discharge? I think not. We have better bridges to burn. She’s an outstanding troop!

You’re allowed to look at it (Playboy) in uniform. It’s sold in the building I work in (on base). If you ban a military member from posing, then you must ban the actual source. And that would be illegal.

Don’t confuse Playboy with the nasty porn out there. And if you don’t want to see it, you have the right not to look at it.

Posted by Scooter | January 24, 2007 | 02:32 pm | Permalink

Personnally, I don’t see anything wrong with what she did. Granted, the dogtags was probably not the right thing to do. And so what if she made extra money on the side. The military has bigger issues they need to fix than a female posing nude. I served in Iraq during Desert Storm and again in 2004 during the current affair over there. Both times, I was in Co-ed units. Both times, a large number of females came up pregnant so they wouldn’t have to go. And both times, nothing was said about that. Did posing nude ever stop her from doing her duty. I don’t think so. How about this one. An 18 year can go fight and die for his or her country, but he/she can’t drink a beer after a surviving a firefight without going to jail. How about we all complain about something worth complaining about!!

Bottom line is that by using the uniform in this manner she committed a felony. Yes, that’s right a crime. By wearing the dog tags and by allowing the use of her photos in full uniform she violated many regulations but she also violated at least two Federal Statutes each punishable by fines and prison time and that’s after the Air Force is done with her. I am a 5 year Army veteran and a Desert Storm Vet who served as an elite soldier (Sapper/Airborne Combat Engineer) and I’m disgusted by this crap. Yes she’s hot but she should have waited until her enlistment was up and done this after leaving the service. But then they wouldn’t have been interested in her without being able to EXPLOIT THE UNIFORM!!! One of the comments here was about some former Marine doing porn. Um…the key word there is former but I’ve got news for ya, if he were to wear any part of the actual military uniform in those videos then he would be violating the same laws. It’s not about her choice…it’s about flippantly and arrogantly disgracing the uniform, the service and the honor of those of us who also fought. The only time a person is allowed to wear the uniform when not on active duty is during parades, funerals, military functions and the like. Frankly she violated many regs even without the uniform on. Anyone ever heard of conduct unbecoming. There are certain standards that we signed our name to live up to. Oaths that we swore on enlistment and she casually thumbed her nose at it all. SHe is a disgrace and I hope the Air Force makes an example of her. What REALLY pisses me off is that she, being a Drill Instructor, is VERY familiar with the regulations on this subject and knew exactly the kind of bad press this would bring the Air Force and THAT, people, is precisely the point of the law in the first place. Do we really think that her chain of command needs THIS crap right now??? Come on people, think things through a little better.

Posted by Lee | February 2, 2007 | 03:50 pm | Permalink

she violated military regulations because she is a desperate woman exploiting the uniform for monetary gains and fame. if she gets away with this, then the air force will be sending a very negative message to the military community that rules and regulations can be disregarded without consequences.

Posted by rose | February 3, 2007 | 07:48 am | Permalink

Well…by the “letter of the law”, she shouldnt have worn/used the uniform. But all I can say is KUDO’s for being 1st, an American woman that doesn’t weigh 400+ pounds, and 2nd, for having had two kids, and keeping so fit! I think a talent agency will snap her up, let her earn some dough doing Commercials, and maybe she can slide into acting. At least she’s not a disgusting LESBIAN like 89+% of the gals in Uniform today are!

I have to agree with Lee and Rose, “Exploiting The US Airforce”. This women would not have probably gotten her foot in the door if she didn’t use her military status to do so. As a Mother, sister and a daughter to our military personnel, I am very disappointed and disheartened to read this about one our countries role models. I have 6 young women that are my daughters and I would be ashamed if one of them did this in uniform. This woman should have resigned before doing this cause not only is she a disgrace to her country but also to her family. For all these women posting kudos above, Please quit your daytime job before pursuing your new playboy bunny jobs.

JEALOUSY! I was an infantryman in the army. We didn’t have any female staff nor female drill seargeants. If that woman was my drill seargeant I would probably be the best soldier in the army. Two hundred push ups? Yes Drill Seargeant! Barracks clean? Yes Drill Sergeant! =0) Air Force should be happy to have a model serving them, and you people are just jealous!
Besides, none of you are attorneys! Stop threatning everybody with this article 15 crap, you people don’t even know all small details of it. Military is looking to enlist more younger people? Make her a recruit, and I will reinlist!
Since I am an attorney I would even defend her for free!

It’s amazing how our military can miss the best opportunities presented to it. They should have made her a recruiter. I bet her sign up numbers would have been awesome.

Anyone against what this women did should “GET A LIFE” And worry about all that is really bad in this world.. I have nothing to do with the military but I have family in the military and they are all to busy trying to fight a war..Rather then worry about some small town mother taking her clothes off..Quit your crying and bitching and move on..Who cares about regulations and dog tags.. This isn’t the first time this has happened and it won’t be the last..

I’m wondering, if she had posed in uniform with dog tags, in Iraq, on the front page of TIME magazine, would she have received this much Air Force/media attention?

Jessica Lynch,an injured IRAQI POW, made a forture off of being a POW…what about all of the other soldiers who where injured/POWs?

Capitalism is capitalism.

this entire issue is sad … and this country is even sadder … who defines what is hot and what is not … she is sick and her husband is sick … who would allow exposure of their wife in such a manner … and who can appreciate but the sick … she is a disgrace to the uniform and yes to women … for so long women have fought to be more than objects .. yet by one simply and selfish act she sets them back decades … and anyone who can not see the problem with this is lying to yourself … SHE IS WRONG! … and if she were not in the USAF … would she have been chosen … sick explotation … by a sick establishment … what does “hef” care about other than exploiting the weak … women need to stop falling for this … you are better than “eye candy” or “arm candy” or some leech on hef’s arm … go USAF !! Blue Marines !!

I find people’s priorities with respect to the military absolutely laughable.

Let me get this straight.

Being gay in the military: unacceptable.

Posing for Playboy: unacceptable.

Having Playboy Playmates entertain troops (some dressed in military regalia): acceptable. They did this in Vietnam, I’m not certain whether its been done in Iraq.

Halliburton serving contaminated water to our troops in Iraq (the media stumbled upon this): acceptable. The Attorney General has said he doesnt even know how many investigators the Justice department has looking into this.

Whether or not Marines, Sailors, or Soldiers buy these mags and do what they will with them is not the issue. If this woman felt that showing her body was such an issue, there are several mags such as glamor, cosmopolitan, etc, that she could have looked sexy in. She did this for the simple fact that she could make a lot of money fast. This is not an issue of a persons freedom of speach or choice. This is an issue of making quick cash. And making quick cash is not an honerable way to serve our country. Although many of our country men and women do this, if you choose to wear the uniform, you choose sacrifice. Sacrifice of a high paying job and when called upon, sacrifice of life. If you want to show your tits, get out of the service of our country.

Leave the poor girl alone… She’s got the WMD’s and we all benefit from her using them to get to where she wants to be. What happened to the freedom of speech rights in this country. Freedom from censorship… She did violate some form of the military code of lord knows what written back in the 1950’s regarding morality and another 81 pounds of cr_p about societies view about things like this… Ask 20 people to see how many are offended. I bet you’ll get maybe two or three prudes and the rest don’t care.

I think this is alot of BULL. What disgrace has she done. Answer, NONE. How many woman out there have been stripper’s or have posed for playboy, and are now Airline Pilot, Doctor’s, Nurses, Lawyer’s, Secretaries, Or anything else that we disregard. Nothing is said about them. The Military has No guidelines that say ” If you want to do this you can’t wear the uniform and you can’t use your name”. Right now there’s nothingin Black or White. If the Military has NO rules set for something like this, How can there be a punishment? When signing up there are NO lines stating, “Once you sign here, you can’t expose yourself for any company while in the military or even wearing a military uniform”.

In September 2000, Navy Petty Officer Sherry Lynne White who was an E-5 in Hawaii, posed for playboy. And was named Sailor of the Year. Even though she Never wore any part of her uniforn in any shoots, A few months before the issue came out she was RE_4 discharged (”Honorable but with Misconduct”).

In the 1990’s, “OPERATION PLAYMATE” was instituted during the Gulf War wich allows military personnel to e-mail letters to the magazine, each of wich would be answered with an autographed photo and message from a playmate. Retired GEN. Norman Schwarzkopf, described the Playboy Playmates who participated in the effort as “TRUE PATRIOTS”. How can the U.S. Military give respect to Playboy Playmates in the 1990’s for helping boost morale of the U.S. Military, To disrespecting one of thier own for becomming a Playmate. I DON’T think she has disgraced the military and SHOULD keep her job. I DO think the one’s that do disgrace the military are the VETERANS that stand on that corner’s of the street looking for hand-outs, while COLLECTING a GOV’T PENSION. Now, THEY are the one’s disrespecting the military, NOT Michelle Manhart.

LOL…to the people who called Chell desparate or needing quick cash….really, don’t speak of what you have no clue. She’s awesome and they are an awesome couple who aren’t hard up for cash or desparate. There are those of us in this world who simply aren’t ashamed of our bodies and WTF? People need to get a life. And, sorry, the military has no case, but I won’t bore you with the details of why should she actually follow thru with a lawsuit… And, to all the “oh, how could she…” ….must be lots of jealousy out there of women who gained too much weight after having kids….and don’t want their husbands, much less the world, seeing their bodies…. Who are you to judge someone you don’t know? Get over yourselves.

Speak up all the service men and women criticising this lady for what she’s done who have never ever bought, looked at nor read Playboy or any other publication or web site featuring nude women or men.

Is that a deathly hush I hear?

(I’m a prior Navy E5 BM2)

I agree with S. Pompeii and that is, only ugly people disagree or jealous people who can’t handle the fact that beautiful women can serve and pose at the same time! You people who think this girl did something wrong need to step the f— off!

A) It’s her body and NOT the military’s regardless of what her ID states. If the military thinks that naked bodies need to be covered up, then why the hell do they allow men to shower with one another in “nut-to-butt” fashion, and women to shower with one another in “breast-to-back” fashion?

B) She IS/WAS a defender of American freedom and thus HAS the right in my honest opinion to show her body off, unlike some non-veteran, non-serving, women/men in the US who haven’t even raised their little finger to help this nation out… Politicians INCLUDED!

C) If the men in her workplace can’t handle seeing naked women, then MAYBE they need to grow the F— up, Or, MAYBE they need to admit to themselves and their Commands that THEY are gay!

D) Just because she posed naked, doesn’t mean she will come to work that way! If the airmen who go through basic training under her can’t handle the fact that she posed nude, MAYBE THEY have a problem with women and should be kicked out! MAYBE they are gay and THEY shouldn’t even be allowed to serve in my beloved military!

E) Why is it OK for men/women in the military to buy smut magazines (like Hustler etc.), which are sold on bases BTW, and it’s not allowed for a military woman to pose in a classy magazine like Playboy? MAYBE this country needs to admit that it has some MAJOR issues with itself that it needs to address FIRST, before going off to war with a third world, nothingness, country like Iraq!

A BIM IS A BIM IS A BIM. I DON’T CARE IF SHE IS “GOOD” AT HER WORK. 99.999% OF THE PEOPLE HAVE NEVER BEEN INSTRUCTED UNDER HER AND THEREFOR THEIR IMPRESSION OF HER IS THAT SHE IS A BRAINLESS BIMBO. SHE DESERVED TO BE KICKED OUT.

Well, the military is pressing hard these days for service members to do “collateral duties”, and I think SSGT. Manhart provided a great one to the community! Really, it’s nobody’s business what she does in her off-time, and especially what does with her body! I commend her on a valiant stance against the oppression against women who serve in the military. She showed us both sides of herself… First she showed that she was a GREAT drill instructor who was as tough as any man, and then she went out on her off-time and showed that she was a woman and had a feminine side under all that “fakeness” the military made her cover herself with. I find that EXTREMELY sexy and erotic for any woman to display!

I sometimes think that men, especially in the military, have a fear of breasts with power. They pretend to themselves that women with authority are not women at all, and once a boob pops out, it’s like, “Holy Sh–, It’s a woman! She’s got to go!”

It’s not like she’s out there prostituting herself to military personnel and civilians like some women in the military who serve onboard ships like the USS Eisenhower, Enterprise, Lincoln, Kennedy, etc.) Sssssshhhh! We don’t want really want a story about all the military men and women who are out there cheating on their spouses with other military personnel while they are deployed! We won’t talk about all the Officers who are banging enlisted women in their fancy offices and state rooms behind their wives’ backs! We won’t talk about all the male military members who whack-off to smut magazines on a daily basis to keep their sanity while they are deployed for months on end without any chance of getting any real pink taco!

To all the non-believers - Go see it for yourself and join the military.

Such a big deal and so much time, effort and money being wasted on this bullsh*@ issue. If we all want to concentrate on women in the military and the things that happen to them, why not discuss something a little more serious.

There are women stationed in war zones, out there in harms way that can’t even walk from thier housing to the latrine for fear of being assaulted and raped. And not by the enemy, but by the other soldiers in her unit!!

How about this issue for discussion!?!

Posing nude for Playboy or Playgirl, whatever! Having to carry a weapon to the latrine to defend yourself, and not from the enemy… HORRIBLE!!

She is not suppose to show her nudity as long as she is part of armed forces. Michelle is a disgrace lady and should be kicked out from force… I request to the panel of arm forces they must take immediate action to stop this issue… I don’t think so this issue is applicable to go into the market. Simultaneously if she has a little respect so she should herself need to resign from the force.

If she wanted to show her nude body then why she had joined AF ???

I am young graduate and have applied for navy and these types of activities are really intolerable.
