Along with the proprietors of many other gossip blogs, I’ve been flooded all day with emails wanting me to encourage the creators of the OC to bring back Marissa Cooper, who was killed off in the season finale.
Until today, I had never heard of Marissa Cooper, much less had any concern about whether she lived or died. Indeed, I’m not all that sure whether Marissa Cooper is the name of a character or the actress. No matter now.
Hear me network executives: I will personally hunt you down if you bring back Marissa Cooper, Winnie Cooper, Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper, Marissa Tomei, or anyone else who even remotely reminds me of Marissa Cooper.

Mischa Barton wanted off the show cause the ratings were low. Josh Schwartz the creator said okay thats fine but he knew he could turn the shows ratings around and when he does he doesn’t want her crawling back. So instead of sending her of to Jimmy Cooperville he killed her off to teach her not to screw with him or the show. Her character was going nowhere fast with Volcheck. Thank God she is dead and we can all move back to The OC that was in all its glory!
