Natalie Portman a Snob, Not a Whore

LifeSyle Extra reports that Natalie Portman is quite full of herself.

Natalie Portman claims actresses who go to Hollywood to get rich are no better than prostitutes. The ‘V for Vendetta’ star insists she only takes on roles based on their artistic merit and says she would never agree to be in a film just because she was offered a large fee. She said: “I don’t want to ever be working for money because then you are no different to a prostitute.”

The screen beauty – who starred in the money spinning ‘Star Wars’ prequels – also revealed going to college was the best thing she’s ever done. Portman – who once said she would “rather be smart than a movie star” – says her experiences at America’s prestigious Harvard University taught her to have a life outside of Tinseltown.

“Like, you can play a person if you are a person in real life. It’s hard to be like, ‘I just pretend to be a human being on TV!’ So the most important thing about college is that now I really have a life and I’ve got that forever.”

Of course, when you are an incredibly hot, rich movie star it is pretty easy to “have a life” and be picky in one’s roles. And it’s not as if the second Star Wars trilogy was oozing with “artistic merit,” either. Remember Jar-Jar Binks?

Portman is a smart, beautiful, talented young woman who works hard at her craft. She’s only 24 and has been in the acting game for over a decade making her, as Helen Barlow describes her, “an old head on young shoulders.” I’m happy that she leads a balanced life and can work only on projects that interest her. But she should be a little less judgmental of those who are not so fortunate.

Did I mention beautiful? Even with really weird hair? Or no hair?
